Former Mizzou basketball coach Norm Stewart and the family thank all who have expressed sympathy over the death of Jennifer Stewart early Sunday morning. Jennifer, Norm and Virginia Stewart's 29-year-old granddaughter, died in a one-car crash in Columbia around 3 a.m. Condolences may be given through Susan Mcnay at 573-291-5620. Funeral services are set for 10 a.m.

Former KU great Sayers to join athletic department

KU announced the hiring of Gale Sayers as its director of fundraising for special projects on Monday afternoon. Sayers, a two-time All-America selection at KU in 1963-64 and an inductee into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1977 after a sterling career with the Bears, will start in October.
