MANHATTAN, Kan. | When fall football practices began at UCLA, coach Rick Neuheisel was expecting to build his offense around one of the best front lines in the Pacific-10. All five starters from last season's line were set to return, and Neuheisel was excited about their potential.

LAWRENCE | For the most part, Kansas coach Turner Gill has come off as a pretty mild-mannered guy during his eight-plus months in Lawrence. Sure, he can be boisterous when the situation demands something extra, but overall, he’s tried to keep his emotions in check — especially when it comes to his public appearances. Well, all of that will go out the window on Saturday. It will be game day, and Gill admits that on those 12 days in the fall, he doesn’t feel much different from the kid who quarterbacked Nebraska to the 1983 Orange Bowl.
