Iowa State men’s basketball coach Fred Hoiberg completed his coaching staff Thursday, hiring Elwyn McRoy, who coached under John Brady at Arkansas State. “Elwyn has proven to be a great recruiter with ties all across the country,” Hoiberg said in a statement. “His experience on the bench will also be a benefit to our staff and players. We are thrilled to have him join us.” McRoy worked his way up in the junior college ranks, coaching at Butler (Kan.) Community College, Independence (Kan.) Community College and Redlands (Okla.) Community College.
